• I agree that Windows Disk Manger should normally be able to see an unformatted disk. An unformatted disk might not show up under "My Computer" or "This PC" but the manager should see it, unless something is fishy. The 12V thing does not need to be a PS issue, it could be a cable/connection issue.

Hi, My laptop is ASUS N750JV. I added a samsung SSD and installed windows 10 PRO 64bit. HDD has been formatted. Only see HDD in boot option and the SSD does not show in Hard Drive BBS Priorities also. Sometimes can boot up directly. Sometimes need to enter BIOS first. I swapped SSD and HDD sata ports but it is the same. Please help. The only problem I'm having is that when I go into my BIOS to change my drive boot order, the SSD doesn't even show up! Every time I boot my computer, I have to hit F11 and launch from my SSD manually, or else my computer tries to run an OS from my wiped hard drive. And the Windows Disk Management solutions can be replaced by third-party free partition manager software as well, like EaseUS Partition Master, including change drive letter and paths, initialize hard drive and format a hard drive partition. Now, I can boot into the OS with CSM disabled no problem. Also, in the BIOS it shows Windows Boot Manager: Samsung SSD and Samsung SSD in the boot priority as well as my optical drive. First I disabled secure boot in case this was the issue, but the SSD still did not show in the boot priority list. Then I switched from UEFI to legacy boot, and when I did that the SSD shows in the boot priority list, but then so drive boots, I guess the boot loader for UEFI is not the same as legacy.
